Son Heung-min was praised for his “bravery” after scoring two goals against Arsenal and assisting twice, earning him the medallion.

After a multi-goal performance in the first North London derby of the season, Son Heung-min (Tottenham) praised teammate James Maddison (England) for assisting on both goals.

Tottenham drew 2-2 away to Arsenal in the sixth round of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) at the Emirates Stadium in London, England, on Thursday (June 24).

Son Heung-min, who wore the captain’s armband and started as a frontline striker, scored two goals to save the day. Both goals were assisted by Madsen.

“We showed a lot of mental strength,” he told Sky Sports after the game, “especially Maddison, he showed a lot of bravery.”

Son pointed to the fact that Arsenal came right back after conceding the first goal. “Derbies are always emotional games,” he said. “It’s important to recognize that we conceded a goal and then equalized,” he said.
