KB’s Park Ji-soo is the first MVP in women’s basketball history to win three consecutive rounds

The Korean Women’s Basketball Federation (WKBL) announced on Sunday that Park Ji-soo won 65 out of 73 votes in the voting results for the MVP of the third round of the 2023-2024 season. Park Ji-soo led his team to four wins and one loss by scoring 24 points, 17.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists in five games in the third round. Park Ji-soo has been showing off her overwhelming performance this season by sweeping the MVP of the first and second rounds.

Park is the first female professional basketball player to win three consecutive round MVPs. Park, who received her 16th round MVP, has also widened the gap with Shin Jeong-ja (retired) and Kim Dan-bi (Woori Bank, 12 times).

Lee Myung-kwan of Asan Woori Bank was selected as the third round winner with 25 votes out of 35 votes. Lee Hae-ran and Lee Ju-yeon (Samsung Life Insurance) received the first and second rounds of the competency development award. The prize money is 2 million won for MVP and 1 million won for competency development.
