“Glad to break the losing streak rather than regain the top spot in the V-League”

Woori Card outside hitter (left side hitter) Kim Ji-han (24) once again led the way in defeating Korean Air.

Woori Card defeated Korean Air 3-0 (25-19 25-23 26-24) in the men’s Dodram 2023-2024 V-League at Gyeyang Gymnasium in Incheon on Tuesday.

With the win, Woori Card (9-3, 25 points) snapped a two-game losing streak and moved into first place, pushing Korean Air (8-4, 25 points) to second.

Kim Ji-han scored 18 points, including four blocking points, to lead the team to victory.

Matei, who has been playing poorly lately, added 18 points to the win, while setter Han Tae-joon led the way with steady ball distribution and sharp serves.

“It’s good to be back in first place,” said Kim Ji-han, “but it’s even better to break the losing streak and turn the team’s mood around. I think we will have a good result if we continue in this mood.”

“We did a lot of analysis on Lincoln’s attack course. Today, when he hit the ball, I could see the path well,” he laughed.

He said he enjoys playing against Korean Air. Urikhard is 2-2 against Korean Air this season.

“Today’s game is important,” he said. But Korean Air has a lot of good players, so I try to be confident even if I make a mistake. I don’t care if I lose, I’m just trying to have fun,” he said. “Against Korean Air, the players have a strong will to stick together. We’ve been getting better and better when we play.”

“I didn’t expect our team to be this good,” he said of finishing first in the second round, “but after the first round, I was convinced that we could do it, and I thought, ‘If we do this, we can go all the way to the top. With Issei’s arrival, the center line was reinforced with Park Jin-woo, and the reception from the left side improved. Han Tae-joon is also doing well. I think everything has improved from last season,” he analyzed.

The team is looking forward to the upcoming match against OK Financial Group on December 3. Woori Card has lost both meetings with OK Financial Group this season.

“I think we can win if we do what we’ve been doing instead of focusing on the other team. We will only focus on our own game,” he vowed.
