‘Cabbage Boy’ Lee Sang-ho finishes ninth in snowboard World Cup season opener

Lee “Cabbage Boy” Sang-ho (Nexen) failed to advance to the quarterfinals after finishing ninth in the season opener of the FIS Snowboard World Cup 2023-24.
Lee finished ninth out of 55 competitors in the men’s parallel giant slalom at the 2023-2024 FIS Snowboard World Cup in Caretta, Italy, on Friday (Feb. 15).
Lee, who won a silver medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea,

finished first in the first and second qualifying periods with a combined time of 1:11.96,

However, in the best-of-16 final, he lost by 0.04 seconds to Switzerland’s Gian Casanova,

who was 16th in qualifying, and failed to advance to the quarterfinals.
Kim Sang-gyeom (Hi-one), who qualified for the round of 16 alongside Lee Sang-ho in 15th place, was also eliminated by Italy’s Edwin Corati by 0.43 seconds.
