Lee Heung-ryeon Takes Off his Catcher’s Mask and Starts a New Career as an SSG Power Analyst
Lee Heung-ryun (34), who played as a catcher for the professional baseball SSG Landers,
is making a new start as an away power analyst for the club.

“Lee Heung-ryun was contemplating between retirement and extending his active career after finishing last season due to chronic shoulder pain,

Lee Heung-ryeon, who joined the Samsung Lions in 2013 after attending Yatap High School and Hongik University,
performed impressively as a backup catcher for Samsung until 2016.
After serving in the Police Baseball Team,
he moved to the Doosan Bears and then to the SK Wyverns (now SSG) in 2020, and in 2021,
he played in 90 games, the most since his debut.
Last year, he only played in 16 games due to injury.
Lee Heung-ryun’s professional career records include a batting average of 0.233,
15 home runs, and 101 RBI in 455 games.
Lee Heung-ryun explained the background of his retirement, saying,
