Hwang Hee-chan’s multi-goal outburst against Brentford marks first EPL double-digit scoring performance

Hwang Hee-Chan (27, Wolverhampton) scored his first double-digit goal in the English Premier League (EPL). Fans have been entertained by his ‘goal competition’ with Son Heung-min (31, Tottenham).
Hwang scored back-to-back goals in the 14th and 28th minutes of the first half against Brentford in the 19th round of the 2023-2024 EPL at the G-Tech Community Stadium in Brentford, England, on Aug. 28 (KST).

It was Hwang’s first goal in four games since the final goal against Burnley on Sept. 6, and his ninth and 10th goals in the league.
With the 4-1 victory, Wolverhampton moved to 11th place with seven wins, four draws and eight losses (25 points). Brentford is 14th with 5 wins, 4 draws, and 9 losses (19 points).
With his multi-goal performance, Hwang Hee-chan scored double-digit goals in a season for the first time since his EPL debut in the 2021-2022 season.

He is only the second South Korean player to score double-digit goals in a season in the EPL, joining Son Heung-min.

He is sixth in the league in goals scored, one goal behind Son Heung-min (11), who is tied for fourth.
Hwang started on the left flank and scored in the 14th minute of the first half when he intercepted a backpass that was headed for the opposing goalkeeper, and in the 28th minute, he collected a ball from behind in the front of the goal area, beat a defender, and rattled the net.
Hwang complained of back pain after contesting an aerial ball in first-half stoppage time and was eventually substituted for Jean-Luc Bellerin just before the end of the first half.

Despite this, he was given the highest rating (8.7) by football statistician FootMob, and the Premier League voted him Man of the Match.
Hwang scored four goals in all competitions last season – three in the regular season and one in the FA Cup – but has established himself as a regular in all 19 EPL games this season, scoring 10 goals and adding one in the League Cup.

That’s six goals ahead of the team’s second-leading scorer, Mateusz Cunha (five). He’s also recently been given a boost by the club’s top-flight treatment, signing a long-term contract until 2028. 카지노사이트777
Wolverhampton manager Gary O’Neill said: “You just have to write Chani’s (Hwang’s nickname) name down and watch him play.

He proves his fantastic qualities in training.

That’s why it’s so relaxing to watch him.”
Commentator Kim Dae-gil said, “Hwang Hee-chan has been a very talented striker since his days at Pohang Steel.

He entered the overseas league relatively quickly, but I feel that he blossomed a little late due to nagging injuries.

Now he’s definitely on the rise.

He has the speed and skill to destroy opposing defenses, so he is an indispensable player for the Korean national team.”
Hwang Hee-chan told the Korean media, “It was a great game for me to score my tenth goal in the EPL.

I’m proud of myself, and I’m not satisfied with 10 goals, but I will continue to score a lot of goals.”

“In the middle of the game, my back suddenly stopped moving and I was worried, but I received treatment immediately after the game and it improved a lot,” he said.
