Korea’s Strongest Man’ Jeong Da-woon Pledges to make a Comeback at UFC 293

Korea’s strongest man Jeong Da-un (29) has completed his preparations for the sortie.

Daun Jeong passed the light heavyweight (93kg) weigh-in at 205.3 pounds (93.1kg) at the ‘UFC 293: Adesanya VS Strickland’ weigh-in held at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney

New South Wales, Australia on the 8th.

His opponent Carlos Ullberg (32, New Zealand) also weighed in at 204.7 pounds (92.9 kg).

Daun Jeong will clash with Wolberg in the main event of the undercard of ‘UFC 293: Adesanya VS Strickland’ held at the same venue on the 10th.

He needs to snap a two-game losing streak.

Daun Jeong has gone undefeated since entering the UFC in 2019 and is close to becoming the first Asian fighter to enter the UFC light heavyweight rankings.

However

he faltered as he was defeated by Dustin Jacoby (35, USA) and Devin Clark (33, USA) in succession.

This is my first consecutive loss in UFC and the first time in 8 years of my career.

This time too, the enemy is difficult.

The opponent, Ulberg, is a supernova with good momentum, with 4 consecutive wins and 3 consecutive (T)KO wins.

He is a teammate of UFC middleweight (83.9kg) champion Israel Adesanya (34, New Zealand/Nigeria)

who is competing in the main event of this tournament, and is a fearsome striker who was a kickboxing champion in New Zealand.

Moreover, since Ulberg is from the neighboring country of New Zealand and has lived in Sydney, he is essentially fighting in enemy territory. 지울프-토토

Still, he didn’t want to back down.

Jeong Da-un said, “It can be a burden to fight at the opponent’s home, but he didn’t want to be a player who was criticized for fighting in adverse conditions. “He is not a player who can’t win at all, and he was motivated by the thought that he could win if he worked hard,” he said, explaining the background to accepting the match.

He has perfected his skills as a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter.

So far, he has won no matter how he wants to fight.

But at his normal level, he realized that he had to fight strategically, using all of his comprehensive abilities.

Jeong Da-un said, “As I was preparing for this match, I thought a lot about expanding the scope to fit mixed martial arts,” and added, “I plan to fight calmly and coolly.”

Lastly, Da-un Jeong said, “I think my current situation is an opportunity to grow further.

It is a game where you have to push yourself to stand upright as an athlete.

“I will definitely show you a good performance,” he pledged to win.

Meanwhile, UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and No. 5 Sean Strickland (32, USA)

who are participating in the main event of this tournament, also successfully weighed in ahead of the title match.

Adesanya weighed 184.8 pounds (83.8 kg) and Strickland weighed 184.9 pounds (83.9 kg) for the middleweight championship.

Unexpectedly, Adesanya, from neighboring New Zealand, was booed, while Strickland was cheered.

Ahead of the game, the challenger’s enthusiastic attitude at the media day and press conference appealed to Australian fans.

Strickland said after the weigh-in, “I’m cheering for Adesanya, not because you like me.

You’re rooting for me because I represent your country more than Adesanya,” he taunted the champion.

He continued, “I will wage war for you, and I will even lose a brain cell for you.

Thank you for your support,” he said, predicting a bloody battle.

Adesanya responded, “Strickland doesn’t care.

The important thing is not me, but us.

I have a great team, country and culture behind me,” he said.

Enough said.

We’ll see tomorrow,” he warned the challenger.

UFC 293: Adesanya VS Strickland main card will be broadcast live on TVING starting at 11 a.m. on September 10th.

The undercard featuring Jeong Da-un will be broadcast live on the same platform from 9 a.m.
