“Better command than last outing happy with changeup”
After being removed from the game after being hit by a hard-hit pitch, Ryu Hyun-jin, 36, of the Toronto Blue Jays, breathed a sigh of relief as he avoided major injury.
Ryu started the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) game against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio, on Monday (Aug. 8) and pitched a strong game.

“I got hit in the knee by a pitch, and I got a bruise,” Ryu said to local reporters after the game, according to Aden Zwelling of Canadian outlet Sportsnet, “but it’s not something that’s going to prevent me from running or playing.”
It’s not a major injury, so Ryu should be able to return as soon as the pain goes away.
Ryu was pleased with the way he pitched today, especially with his changeup.
“My command was much better than in my last start (against the Baltimore Orioles on Feb. 2). 안전놀이터 I was especially happy with my changeup,” he said, adding, “I was able to throw it where I wanted.”
Schneider was also relieved to see Ryu complaining of pain after being hit by a pitch. When he realized the injury wasn’t serious, he joked about it.
