Macau VIP room promoter Iao Kun Group Holding Co Ltd. posted rolling chip sales of $1.59 billion in May, down 4% from $1.66 billion a year earlier.
In a statement on Wednesday, Iao Kun said its May win rate was 2.32%.
The company attributed the drop in rolling chip turnover to “nearly 10 days of heavy rain in mid-May” in Macau, Hong Kong and Guangdong provinces.
In the first five months of this year, Iao Kun’s rolling chip turnover was $8.08 billion, averaging $1.62 billion per month, up 12% from a year earlier, the Nasdaq-listed company said.
Iao Kun operates five VIP game rooms in Macau: Starworld Hotel and Casino, Galaxy Macau, Sands Cotai Central, City of Dreams Macau, and Le Royal Arc Casino.
VIP Bakara accounted for 63.7% of total gaming revenue in the first quarter of this year, according to the latest official data.
The company reported last month that its first-quarter profit fell 54% to $3.2 million. It also said it planned to complete its dual listing in Hong Kong by the end of the third quarter of this year.
