NYC Companies Are Considering Multiple Sites For Game Real Estate

New York State is about to receive three commercial casino permits, and NYC developers and game operators are already paying attention to possible locations. Some of the potential sites currently under discussion include Times Square and Hudson Yards, as well as talk of possible casino ownership on Willett Point in Queens and Coney Island in Brooklyn.

In April, the New York State Legislature officially included a fast-track of three Downstate Casino licenses in this year’s budget. This would allow three licenses to be introduced at least a year earlier. Eric Adams, the mayor of Big Apple, said he wanted to see at least two commercial licenses in the city.

Hudson Yaz’s affiliates, real estate brands such as Bonado and SL Green in Times Square, are interested parties seeking to introduce casino properties into their territory. They were willing to team up with the gaming giants along with Hard Rock, Sands and Wynn to activate the venue and presented preliminary plans to Gov. Cathy Hochul and other state officials.

Representatives from related companies have already met with city officials to discuss potential casino plans on the far West Side. The company is a major developer of Hudson Yards, and spokesman John Weinstein commented that the real estate giant is now weighing options for potential gambling sites in Manhattan.

Thor Equity is also one of the interested parties, and the company wants to build a commercial gaming facility on Coney Island. In Sunday’s interview, business tycoon John Catsimatidis and the owner said casino amenity would be a great addition to Coney Island and Brooklyn. Because in his opinion it will bring a lot of vitality to the borough.

Casino leader Hard Rock has already expressed his desire to participate in the New York City game project. Company lobbyists have already met with City Hall Chief of Staff Frank Caron about casino property development. And along with Cohen of the Mets, he presented plans for the Willet Point Casino, which is easily accessible via Subway No. 7, Long Island Rail Road, Grand Central Parkway, and Long Island Highway.

But when it comes to the three commercial licenses, those companies will compete a lot. Currently, the two existing gaming facilities are considered pole positioned by the Queen’s Genting America Resort World New York City and the Empire City Casino of the Yongkers’ MGM Resort. If two are selected for licenses, the rest of the companies will have to compete for the other one.

But some Manhattan residents don’t like the idea of bringing casino property into the borough. Previously, some residents of Keep Bay had spoken out against such projects. Diane Riota said she was not willing to roll the dice on casino property near her home. Because it can attract shady characters.
