Guzauk explodes for a grand slam in pro debut

Koo Ja-rook (30-Samsung Lions), who currently leads the KBO in batting average, hit his first career grand slam.

On April 19 at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu, South Korea, 성인웹툰 Koo started the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League home game against the KIA Tigers as the No. 3 designated hitter and hit a grand slam in his second at-bat.

After grounding out to shortstop in his first at-bat in the first inning, Koo got his second chance at the plate in the top of the third inning, and on a one-pitch, two-strike situation, he took a changeup up the middle from KIA starter Mario Sanchez over the right field fence.

Prior to this game, Guzauk was batting .343 (103-for-300), good for first place in the league. His batting average peaked in August at .464, and he hit his first career grand slam in the 16th game of the month.
