Inspire Entertainment Resort, a complex in Incheon, South Korea, will host the first steak restaurant and first bar-and-grill outside the U.S., which will feature brands tied to American basketball player Michael Jordan. The property, being developed by the U.S.-based Mohegan Tribal Game Administration, will open some non-game facilities in the fourth quarter, followed by a foreigner-only casino early next year.

Cornerstone Restaurant Group, a longtime partner at Mohegan Gaming, referred to “Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse,” “MJ23 Sports Bar & Grill” and Wednesday’s press release as two “original concepts” – “Hi-Fi Chicken & Beer” and “Braseri 1783.”

The announcement did not specify whether the outlet was one of the facilities to launch in the fourth quarter.

“Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse and MJ23 Sports Bar & Grill are the two most popular restaurants on the Mohegan Sun, our flagship property in Connecticut, and it’s very exciting to bring those two concepts to Korea with new ones,” Ray Pino, president and CEO of Mohegan Gaming, said in an update Wednesday

Inspire Entertainment Resort will have 1,275 hotel rooms, a 15,000-seat multipurpose stadium, conference facilities, shops, indoor water parks, and outdoor themed attractions as well as a foreigner-only casino. Mohegan described the first phase of the plan as a $1.6 billion venture.

Cornerstone Restaurant Group, led by restaurateur David Zadikoff and Josh Zadikoff, and its affiliate Jump Higher LLC announced Wednesday that it will oversee all Michael Jordan-branded restaurants in partnership with Michael Jordan.

Jordan retired from the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the third and last time in 2003. During his two seasons with the Chicago Bulls, he wore No. 23 to his shirt.

According to many market research institutes, including Nielsen LLC, basketball is one of the most watched sports in Korea.
