On Monday, Chief Minister Manohar Parikar said maritime casino vessels in Goa risk losing their licenses if they do not move from the Mandovi River.
Parikar told the state legislature that ships not complying with orders would not renew their licenses, Indian media reported.
The Goa government decided last year not to grant any more maritime casino permits and decided to move all existing casino vessels out of the Mandovi River by 2015.
Parrikar said it is up to the owners of the marine casino to find a new place to dock once they have moved their ships out of the Mandovi River. The ships have been blamed for polluting the river, which has been certified as unsafe for bathing and fishing.
The Goa government licensed four casino ships and most recently expired in 2015.
