LG Enns “Looks like an ace” “High course strategy, went well according to plan”

“It was part of the pre-game plan, and it worked out well,” said Detrick Enns (33-LG Twins), who has established himself as the team’s “ace” by picking up wins in each of his two starts, especially when it comes to targeting the high-course strike zone.

Enns started against the Kiwoom Heroes of the Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League 2024 at the Gocheok SkyDome in Seoul, South Korea, on Monday and threw 95 pitches over six innings, allowing just three hits and no walks while striking out 11 to earn his second win in a 3-0 victory.

Enns, who pitched six innings of two-run ball in the opening game against the Hanwha Eagles on April 23, was even better today. LG manager Yoon Kyung-yup said, “I believe he will gain confidence and pitch better in the first game,” and it was true.

Enns mixed a strong fastball in the low 140 mph range with a curveball, cutter, and changeup.

He was able to find the high part of the strike zone and get a lot of outs. His command of his pitches was also outstanding, with no walks while striking out 11.

After the game, Enns said, “It feels good to get a good result. I had a game plan with my catcher, Dong-won Park, and I executed it well in the game,” he said, adding, “The batters helped me a lot behind me.”

“It was part of the game plan,” he said of the high pitch.

“I tried to attack while checking the swing and reaction of the batters, and it worked,” he said, adding, “Especially the location of my fastball made it easier for me to attack the top of the plate.”

Coach Yeom Kyung-yup also praised Enns, saying, “He’s not like a foreign player, he’s trying to improve.”

In response, Enns thanked his manager and said, “It’s a natural part of being a player.”

“As a player, it’s always your destiny to get better,” he said, adding, “Personally, I want to 토토 be a complete pitcher, I want to be well-rounded, and I don’t mind trying new things if it will help me.”

It’s only been two games, but Enns has high praise for the KBO League.

“The quality of the hitters in the league is high and they’re aggressive,” he said, “and if you’re not focused on the mound, you can get hit and give up runs at any time. You have to be prepared and focused at all times.”

He also said that he will focus on the team’s championship rather than personal goals.

“My goal is to win the team championship,” he said. “If you focus on every game, the rest will follow. If you have a specific goal, it will take away from your focus, so I’m going to do my best every time I pitch.”
